Greenwood Village, CO – October 12, 2009 - Alix L. Joseph, partner in the law firm of Burns, Figa & Will, P.C., will present How to Avoid Letting Your Clients Be Up A Creek Without Any Water: Water Basics for Realtors and How to Avoid Potential Problems at the CAR Convention-Realtor World Convention on Monday, October 19 at The Broadmoor Hotel. The presentation is scheduled for 3:45 -5:15 p.m. and is considered a must for real estate professionals who handle transactions involving water rights, including ditch rights, residential wells, commercial wells and/or reservoir rights.
“In addition to learning the basics of Colorado Water Law, real estate professionals who attend will gain an understanding of what documents to request as part of a real estate transaction, and when they may need assistance from water professionals in reviewing those documents,” said Joseph.
Ms. Joseph is an expert in the areas of water and environmental law as well as civil litigation. Prior to joining Burns, Figa & Will, Ms. Joseph practiced general civil litigation in Fort Collins and Grand Junction, Colorado. She is admitted to practice in the Colorado Supreme Court, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States District for the District of Colorado. She is a member of the American, Colorado and Denver Bar Associations as well as the Colorado Water Congress.
