Biography

Ms. Belak has a substantial amount of experience in business transactions, corporate law, intellectual property and commercial litigation. Ms. Belak represents clients in many aspects of their businesses, including assisting clients in forming their businesses; the purchase or sale of a business; negotiating and drafting contracts of all types, including business acquisitions, intellectual property license agreements, non-competition agreements, confidentiality agreements, distributorship agreements and employment agreements; trademark applications and renewals, including U.S. and international applications; obtaining financing; secured transactions; securities and real estate. Ms. Belak also counsels clients regarding corporate governance and risk management issues, as well as conflict avoidance and resolution. She has litigated commercial matters in a wide variety of areas, including antitrust, intellectual property, environmental, unfair competition, breach of contract, and business torts.

She is licensed to practice law in all Colorado state courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and U.S. Bankruptcy Court.

Ms. Belak is actively involved in numerous legal and community organizations, including the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and the Law Club, where she served for a total of nine years as a director or officer. She is also a member of the Denver/Boulder Better Business Bureau Advertising Ethics Council and the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. Previously, Ms. Belak has served on the boards of directors of several community organizations that assist at-risk youth.
